Put a quote form on your website
Let visitors describe their event on your own site and get an instant budget range — while you get the lead and a costed draft proposal.
What you'll learn
- ✓Creating a widget key for your domains
- ✓Pasting the form into your website
- ✓What visitors see, and what stays private
- ✓Handling the leads that arrive
Create the form in Settings
Open Settings and find "Website quote form". Click "Set up the form", give it a name like "Main website", and list the domains it will run on. Enter both yourcompany.com and www.yourcompany.com if your site answers on both — the form only works on the domains you list, so a missing www is the most common reason it appears to do nothing.
Pro tip: The widget is available on the Pro plan and above.
Copy the script tag
CueQuote shows a finished script tag with your key and brand colour already filled in. Copy it — there is nothing to edit.
Pro tip: The key starts with cq_pub_ and is meant to be public. Never paste a cq_live_ API key onto a website; it is a secret.
Paste it into your website
Put the tag on the page where you want the form to appear. In WordPress use a Custom HTML block; in Squarespace a Code block; in Wix or Webflow an embed element. The form renders exactly where the tag sits, or you can point it somewhere specific with data-target.
Pro tip: It renders in an isolated shadow root, so it cannot break your site layout and your CSS cannot break it.
Try it as a visitor would
Load the page, describe a real event, add a guest count and your own name and email, and submit. You should get a total budget range with a breakdown by category within a minute.
Pro tip: If you see "This key is not enabled for…", the domain you are testing on is not on the key list — add it in Settings.
Handle the lead
You get an email straight away with the visitor's details, the range they were shown, and a button to the draft. In CueQuote there is a fully costed proposal waiting with the client already attached. Review the pricing, adjust anything, and send it.
Pro tip: Visitors only ever see ranges. Your unit prices and equipment list are never exposed on your public site.
